Full-Time Specialty Barista — $19/hr + Tips (~$38/hr Take-Home) | Daytime Only

About Us

La Costa Hospitality LLC operates an all-day cafe in Culver City serving California-inspired breakfast and lunch. We're open 8am–3pm, seven days a week. We take our coffee program seriously and we're looking for someone who does too.

The Role

We're hiring an experienced specialty barista to join our team full-time. You'll be pulling shots, dialing in, steaming milk, and running bar during a high-volume daytime service alongside a tight crew. This isn't a learn-on-the-job position — we want someone who already knows their way around an espresso machine and can hit the ground running.

What You'll Do

Pull consistent, well-extracted espresso throughout service. Dial in grinders at open and adjust as conditions change. Steam milk to spec and pour clean latte art. Build drinks accurately and efficiently during rushes. Keep your station clean and organized to our SOPs. Contribute to a positive, professional team environment.

What We're Looking For

At least 1–2 years of specialty coffee experience in a cafe or coffee-forward environment. Strong palate and genuine interest in coffee — you can taste the difference between a good shot and a great one. Solid latte art (rosetta and heart minimum, tulip and beyond is a plus). Comfortable working a busy bar without losing composure. Reliable, on time, and easy to work with. Available to work weekends. Food Handler card or willingness to get one before your first shift.

What You Get

Base pay of $19/hr with tips that typically bring total hourly earnings to around $35 - $40. Daytime-only schedule. Free shift meals from our kitchen.
