Job Description:
The Department of Communication and Writing seeks an imaginative, forward-thinking educator and media professional with expertise in videography and video production (including producing, editing, and packaging content for distribution) to join a growing, engaged, student-centered department. Our nine tenured and tenure-track faculty members, spanning the programs in Film and Media Arts, Mass Communication, and English and Writing, share a passion for teaching and mentoring undergraduate students, embrace new technologies, and prepare graduates who are sought after by regional and national employers as they shape the future of the media industry.
The successful candidate will join a well-resourced Mass Communication program, where collaboration is deeply embedded in the culture. Backed by outstanding production facilities, including a professional-grade studio, dedicated editing bays, and an expansive equipment inventory, the program provides the tools and institutional support for faculty and students to produce exceptional work. Teaching four courses per semester in videography and video production, the successful candidate will help students build the technical and professional skills the modern media industry demands while providing creative and strategic leadership for a program that thrives on interdisciplinary conversations. Through a campus-wide culture of colleagues who are eager to work across disciplinary boundaries, the program maintains strong partnerships with several other disciplines at the college (Sport Media, Film and Media Arts, and Theatre) and colleagues in building new opportunities, integrating emerging technologies, and contributing to a vibrant culture of learning and success.
