Fund Accounting Analyst (contract)

Job Summary

BNY is seeking an ETF Fund Accounting Analyst to support daily NAV oversight and fund accounting operations within a fast-growing Exchange Traded Funds (ETF) environment. This role is responsible for monitoring the full ETF NAV lifecycle, ensuring accuracy across financial reporting, reconciliations, and client deliverables while partnering closely with internal teams and external clients.

This position offers exposure to one of the fastest-growing segments in financial services, providing hands-on experience with ETF products, fund accounting processes, and client-facing operations.

This role is available in New York, NY; Lake Mary, FL; or Los Angeles, CA, and requires 4 days onsite per week. Candidates must be available to work either 10:00 AM – 7:00 PM EST or 11:00 AM – 8:00 PM EST (9:00 AM – 6:00 PM PST for West Coast), depending on team alignment.

Key Responsibilities

  • NAV Oversight & Validation: Provide daily oversight of the ETF NAV lifecycle, ensuring accuracy of fund activity, pricing, and reporting outputs.
  • Reconciliation & Exception Management: Monitor cash and asset reconciliations, investigate discrepancies, and manage exception resolution and escalation.
  • Client Support & Inquiry Resolution: Serve as a point of contact for client inquiries, ensuring timely and accurate responses to operational and reporting-related questions.
  • Financial Reporting: Support preparation and validation of financial reports, ensuring compliance with internal controls and client expectations.
  • Fund Onboarding & Lifecycle Support: Assist in onboarding new funds and supporting ongoing fund lifecycle activities across ETF products.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with NAV production teams, operations, and client service groups to ensure seamless execution of daily deliverables.
  • Process Accuracy & Risk Mitigation: Ensure high levels of accuracy and control across deliverables, supporting audit inquiries and remediation efforts where needed.
  • Data Analysis & Reporting: Utilize Excel to analyze data, validate outputs, and support reporting and reconciliation processes.

Qualifications

  • 2–5+ years of experience in fund accounting, ETF operations, or financial services
  • Understanding of fund accounting concepts and NAV calculation processes
  • Strong Excel skills for data analysis and reconciliation
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet daily deadlines in a high-volume environment
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to interact with clients and internal stakeholders
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience required

Preferred Experience

  • Experience supporting Exchange Traded Funds (ETFs)
  • Familiarity with fund accounting platforms such as InvestOne
  • Knowledge of financial instruments and markets
