The Manager, Game Operations & Facilities oversees all game operations for all home athletics events for Volleyball, Men’s and Women’s Basketball and Baseball. This includes, but is not limited to ticketing, concessions, promotions, officials, press box, and student workers. This position also oversees the Flagler College Gymnasium, ensuring that maintenance requests are submitted in a timely manner and the facility is in good appearance, working condition, and able to host home events.


  • Hire, train and manage game day operations student employees:
o Approve reported hours within the timekeeping system;
o Create and maintain job descriptions;
o Work closely with the appropriate offices to resolve all payroll or personnel issues;
o Develop and coordinate game day schedules and ensure follow through of duties assigned;
o Implement training for game day staff to ensure working knowledge of game day equipment, game responsibilities and protocols are met.
o Provide direct and clear instructions of duties for all student employees working game days;
  • Serve as the game administrator for all home contests for Volleyball, Men’s and Women’s Basketball and Baseball. Arrive to home competitions at least two hours in advance to ensure appropriate set-up and hospitality of officials and visiting team(s), as well as overseeing the take down of all game day setup.
  • Provide a positive customer service experience for fans, parents, student-athletes, staff, faculty, and anyone else attending home contests.
  • Manage officials and visiting team locker-rooms (security, hospitality, information). Greet officials, visiting teams, fans with courtesy and offer information when needed.
  • Manage the in-game operations for ticketing, guests, and facility management. No pets, smoking, food, drinks are allowed in the facility (ensure compliance of all).
  • Assist with budgets relating to athletics facilities and game day operations.
  • Serve as point of contact as game day administrator for facilities management, internal and external relations, law enforcement/security and concessions at home contests.
  • Make sure to be easily accessible when needed by athletics administration, work staff, law enforcement, officials, and coaches.
  • Assist with Flagler Athletics marketing, promotion, and advertising efforts relating to in game promotions for assigned sports.
  • Manage the Flagler Gymnasium and ensure it is being kept clean, properly maintained, organized, and secure.
  • Manage the usage schedule for Flagler Gymnasium.
  • Assist Director of Tennis with any facility needs or match day set up.
  • Assist the Director of Golf with any tournament set up needs.
  • Serve as a coordinator with Flagler College Maintenance and outside maintenance companies with ongoing maintenance issues or scheduled projects.
  • Serve as a point of contact with Flagler Housekeeping to ensure managed facilities are cleaned properly, including pre/post-game day.
  • Adheres to the core covenants of Flagler College Athletics, which are: Professionalism, Teamwork, Accountability, Sportsmanship, and Integrity.
  • Adhere to the mission statements of Flagler College and the Department of Athletics.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • 4 years’ athletics administration experience.


CHARACTERISTICS PREFERRED

  • Successful experience in athletic event planning and athletic facility management.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate professionally and effectively with a broad constituency, including the news media.
  • Strong work ethic.
  • Positive, enthusiastic approach to job responsibilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to work within a team, placing departmental and institutional priorities above personal advancement.


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master’s degree.
  • 5 years’ successful collegiate athletics administration experience.


WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Sedentary work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Sedentary work involved sitting most of the time and occasionally walking and standing.
  • Climbing, walking, crouching, repetitive motions, and ability to communicate appropriately with students/colleagues.
  • Frequent hours outside the normal College work day.
  • Some travel required to attend meetings at various locations on campus and conference/NCAA meetings in southeast region of US and throughout US.
