Overview

We are seeking an experienced Garage Underwriter to join our underwriting team. This role is ideal for someone who understands the complexity of garage risks and is confident evaluating exposure, pricing accounts appropriately, and working closely with agency partners to drive profitable growth.

This is a production-focused underwriting role where you will manage a book of garage business and play a key role in both new business and renewal strategy.

What You’ll Do

• Underwrite and manage a portfolio of garage risks (dealers, repair shops, service operations, etc.)
• Evaluate submissions for risk quality, pricing adequacy, and appetite alignment
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with retail agents and brokers
• Drive new business production while maintaining profitability on renewals
• Negotiate terms, pricing, and coverage with agency partners
• Collaborate with internal teams on strategy, authority, and account management
• Identify opportunities for growth within assigned territories or segments

What We’re Looking For

• Prior experience underwriting garage risks
• Solid understanding of coverage forms, exposures, and pricing drivers in garage lines
• Strong communication and negotiation skills with a production mindset
• Ability to make sound underwriting decisions independently within authority
• Established relationships with agents/brokers a plus
• Highly organized with the ability to manage a dynamic book of business

Pay: From $65,000.00 per year
