Garden Center Associate/Cashier

Job Summary
Second Chance Plants is seeking a few associates to work in our all-new plant store in Langhorne, PA! Second Chance Plants is a plant & garden outlet that sells a larger selection of overstock plants from local growers. We offer the full selection of a garden center: Plants, supplies and more, in a compact, temporary setup in parking lots at 12 locations in PA & MD.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers warmly and assist them with their gardening, and landscape maintenance questions
• Provide on lawn care, horticulture, and plant selection to help customers achieve their outdoor goals
• Operate the POS (Point of Sale) system accurately for sales transactions, cash handling, and receipts
• Stock shelves efficiently, ensuring merchandise is well-organized, labeled, and replenished regularly
• Support merchandising efforts by arranging displays that highlight seasonal products and promote sales
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the sales floor and outdoor displays to create an inviting shopping environment
• Assist with inventory management, including receiving deliveries and updating stock records using retail math principles

Skills

• Interest in gardening, horticulture, floral design, lawn care, and landscape maintenance techniques
• Experience with retail sales processes including POS systems, cash handling, and cashiering procedures
• Excellent communication skills in English; multilingual abilities are a plus to connect with a diverse customer base
• Demonstrated organizational skills for stocking, merchandising, and maintaining a tidy store environment
• Ability to provide outstanding customer service by actively listening and offering tailored solutions
• Basic understanding of retail math for accurate pricing, discounts, and inventory counts
• Passion for outdoor living products combined with a proactive attitude to support team goals

This role is SEASONAL through June 15th. You will be working OUTSIDE in wind, rain, sun and other weather conditions. This role requires some lifting of plants, shrubs and soil up to 40 pounds.

Pay: $18.00 per hour
