Gas Cutter

• Perform oxy-fuel gas cutting of steel plates, pipes, and structural materials as per instructions and shipbuilding drawings.
• Mark cutting lines using templates, chalk, or laser measurements.
• Operate gas cutting torches, nozzles, regulators, hoses, and cylinders safely.
• Prepare materials for fabrication, welding, fitting, and assembly.
• Remove unwanted metal, rusted sections, or damaged parts on hulls during ship repair.
• Ensure correct gas pressure, flame settings, and cutting angles for quality output.
• Follow safety protocols for handling flammable gases (oxygen, acetylene, LPG, propane).
• Maintain cleanliness and proper storage of cutting tools and consumables.
• Assist welders, fabricators, and fitters during hull construction or block assembly.
• Inspect completed cuts for accuracy, finish, and dimensional correctness.
• Report equipment defects, gas leaks, or hazards immediately.
• Ensure compliance with shipyard safety rules, PPE usage, and hazard management.
