Gas Engineer

Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Gas Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing gas systems across commercial and residential properties. This role requires a strong understanding of mechanical systems, plumbing, and safety regulations. Duties

• Install, service, and repair gas appliances and systems in accordance with safety standards and regulations
• Conduct routine inspections to identify potential issues or hazards within gas systems
• Use hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and carpentry skills to carry out installation and maintenance tasks
• Perform plumbing tasks related to gas systems, including pipe fitting and sealing
• Carry out heavy lifting of equipment or materials safely as required for installation or repairs
• Maintain detailed records of work performed, including inspections, repairs, and replacements
• Ensure all work areas are kept clean and organised following health and safety guidelines
• Assist with the assembly of components for larger projects as needed
• Operate commercial vehicles for transportation of equipment or materials to various sites

Experience

• Proven experience as a Gas Engineer or in a similar role involving gas system installation and maintenance
• Proficiency in welding, plumbing, carpentry, and the use of hand tools and power tools
• Mechanical knowledge related to gas appliances and systems
• Basic maths skills for measurements and calculations during installations or repairs
• Experience with heavy lifting safely handling large or bulky equipment or materials
• Valid driving licence suitable for commercial driving duties is preferred but not essential
• Familiarity with industry safety standards, including gas safety regulations (e.g., GAS SAFE registration) is highly desirable

Pay: £40,000.00-£50,000.00 per year
