Gas Turbine (GT) Erection Mechanical Engineer

- responsible for overseeing the site installation, alignment, and assembly of heavy industrial gas turbines, auxiliary systems, and related mechanical equipment. This role ensures that all erection activities comply with technical specifications, engineering drawings, and safety standards to prepare the unit for commissioning

Key Job Responsibilities

• Site Supervision & Execution: Supervise the day-to-day erection activities of gas turbines, generators, piping systems, and auxiliaries.
• Technical Alignment: Ensure precise alignment of the gas turbine-generator shaft line and related heavy machinery.
• Drawing & Specification Interpretation: Review and interpret engineering, fabrication, and General Arrangement (GA) drawings.
• Methodology Development: Develop, review, and implement erection methods, sequences, and procedures to ensure structural stability.
• Quality Control (QC): Perform inspections on installation activities, check welding quality, and verify compliance with standards (e.g., ASME, IBR).
• Coordination: Liaise with subcontractors, vendors, and clients to ensure materials and equipment are available on-site as per the schedule.
• Safety Adherence: Ensure compliance with all site safety protocols, including rigging, lifting, and working at heights.
• Documentation: Prepare daily/weekly progress reports, inspection records, and as-built documentation.
