Gastroenterologist – Job Description

Position: Gastroenterologist
Department: Gastroenterology
Reports To: Medical Superintendent / Hospital Director

Job Summary:
The Gastroenterologist will diagnose, treat, and manage disorders of the digestive system, including the esophagus, stomach, intestines, liver, pancreas, and gallbladder. Responsibilities include patient consultation, endoscopic procedures, treatment planning, and coordination of care.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct OPD consultations, assess symptoms, and diagnose gastrointestinal conditions.
• Perform endoscopic procedures including Upper GI Endoscopy, Colonoscopy, ERCP, EUS, and related interventions.
• Manage acute and chronic gastrointestinal diseases (GERD, IBS, IBD, hepatitis, GI bleeding, pancreatitis, etc.).
• Interpret diagnostic tests such as endoscopy findings, imaging reports, and laboratory results.
• Provide inpatient rounds, monitor admitted patients, and coordinate with treating teams.
• Recommend treatment plans, lifestyle modifications, and follow-up care.
• Maintain accurate patient records and documentation.
• Ensure adherence to NABH and hospital protocols.
• Participate in medical camps, CMEs, and department meetings.
• Guide junior doctors, nurses, and support staff.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• MBBS with MD/DNB in General Medicine.
• DM/DNB in Gastroenterology (mandatory).
• Valid Medical Council registration.
• Strong diagnostic and procedural skills.
• Good communication and patient-handling abilities.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹300,000.00 - ₹400,000.00 per month

Work Location: In person
