Position Overview:

The GC&E Sales Manager will be responsible for the development, sales, and management of group bookings, conventions, and events at Al Habtoor City Hotels. This role focuses on driving revenue through strategic sales efforts, cultivating relationships with clients, and ensuring seamless coordination of group and event business. The ideal candidate will have proven experience in hotel sales with a focus on large groups, conferences, and events, and will be a proactive, customer-focused sales leader.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive the sales of groups, conventions, and events to meet and exceed revenue targets.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with corporate clients, meeting planners, and event organizers.
  • Develop and implement effective sales strategies for group bookings, conferences, conventions, and social events.
  • Manage the entire sales cycle, from lead generation and proposal creation to contract negotiation and finalizing event details.
  • Work closely with the operations team to ensure the smooth execution of events, providing necessary information and support.
  • Identify and target new business opportunities to grow the GC&E segment.
  • Conduct site inspections and client meetings to promote the hotel’s event facilities.
  • Maintain an in-depth knowledge of market trends, competitor activities, and customer needs to adapt the sales approach.
  • Prepare and deliver sales presentations to prospective clients, showcasing the hotel’s event capabilities and packages.
  • Negotiate event contracts, ensuring favorable terms for the hotel while maintaining client satisfaction.
  • Monitor and analyze sales performance, providing regular reports and feedback to senior management.
  • Represent the hotel at industry events, trade shows, and networking events.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Sales, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in hotel sales or event sales, with a focus on group business, conventions, and large-scale events.
  • Proven ability to generate leads, close deals, and build long-lasting client relationships.
  • Strong understanding of the MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) industry and its trends.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet sales targets.
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and hotel property management systems (PMS).
  • Fluency in English (Arabic is a plus).
