Key Responsibilities
- Record daily financial transactions, including AP/AR, bank entries, and journal entries
- Maintain general ledger and ensure accuracy of all postings
- Prepare monthly financial statements (balance sheet, P&L, cash flow)
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable cycles
- Conduct bank reconciliations, credit card reconciliations, and tenant ledger reconciliations
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis
- Prepare and track invoices, rent payments, and property-related expenses
- Ensure proper documentation and compliance with accounting standards
- Support year-end audit preparation and coordination with external auditors
- Maintain property-level financial reporting for multiple assets
- Collaborate with property managers and internal teams to resolve accounting issues
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 3–5 years of accounting experience (Real Estate industry preferred)
- Strong understanding of GAAP and accounting principles
- Proficiency in accounting software.
- Strong Excel skills (VLOOKUP, pivot tables, formulas)
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to meet deadlines and work independently
Preferred Skills
- Experience with property management accounting
- Knowledge of lease accounting and CAM reconciliation
- Familiarity with financial reporting for real estate portfolios
