General Accountant

Victor Insulators, a Greater Rochester Top 100 fastest growing privately owned company, is a leading manufacturer of high voltage insulators. We currently have an opening for a General Accountant.

This is an IN-PERSON position at our Victor, New York headquarters.

Job Summary

Process all functions of accounting A/R, A/P, Journal Entries, Collections, Banking and back-up to Purchasing and the General Accountant.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Understand and assist in maintaining Kinetics (accounting software).
• Accounts receivable invoicing, collections, cash receipts and scanning checks.
• Accounts payable processing of invoices to G/L accounts through cash sheet. Enter payments in system along with ACH payments.
• Provide bank with daily invoicing and requested back-up.
• Compiles and analyzes financial information to assist as needed in preparing monthly journal entries.
• Reconciles and balances general ledger accounts.
• Researches and corrects account discrepancies.
• Enters actual expenses by department into the budget sheets for comparison purposes.
• Assists in data input for the annual physical inventory.
• Assists with audit fieldwork for both operational and financial audits.
• Provide back-up and additional accounting/office responsibilities as needed.
• Processes all in-house PO’s and back-up for foreign PO’s.
• Sales & Use Taxes Quarterly.

Minimum Qualifications

• Experience in account reconciliation, purchasing, journal entries and budget preparation.
• Four or more years related experience.
• Strong ability in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to perform all essential duties and responsibilities.
• Works well with others in a team atmosphere.
• Flexible with job duties and responsibilities and a willingness to cross train.

Preferred Qualifications

• BS in Accounting is a plus
• Standard cost experience a plus.

Salary Range: Salary Range $65,000 to $75,000 annually.
