General Accountant

Department: General Accountant
Location: Dubai, UAE
Reporting to: General Manager
Salary Range: AED 4,000 – 5,000 (depending on experience)

Job Purpose

To manage the day‑to‑day accounting operations of the company, ensure accurate financial records, timely reporting, and compliance with UAE regulations (including VAT), supporting management in financial decision‑making.

Key Responsibilities

  • Record and post all daily accounting transactions (sales, purchases, receipts, payments, journals) in the accounting system.
  • Manage Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable, including customer invoicing, supplier bills, ageing, and follow‑up on payments.
  • Ensure all invoices are properly recorded, filed, and readily accessible for audits, management reviews, and regulatory compliance.
  • Perform bank, cash, customer, supplier and inter‑company reconciliations.
  • Maintain general ledger and ensure accuracy and proper documentation for all entries.
  • Prepare monthly trial balance and assist in preparing P&L, balance sheet and cash‑flow reports.
  • Handle UAE VAT: input/output VAT calculation, filing and compliance with FTA requirements.
  • Support audits by providing schedules and supporting documents.
  • Monitor inventory movements (gypsum, clinker, and other materials) and reconcile with logistics/warehouse where applicable.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Commerce (or equivalent).
  • 3–4 years of accounting experience, preferably in trading of construction materials.
  • Good knowledge of accounting principles and UAE VAT.
  • Proficiency in accounting software ZOHO &, Tally, (added advantage QuickBooks, ERP) and MS Excel.
  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy and time management.
  • Good communication skills in English; additional languages (Hindi) an advantage.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: AED4,000.00 - AED5,000.00 per month
