General Accountant - DAR Engineering (Lahore - Pakistan)

Job description:

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain general ledger and ensure accurate and timely posting of transactions.
• Prepare and analyze financial statements in accordance with applicable accounting standards (e.g., IFRS).
• Manage accounts payable and receivable processes, including vendor and customer reconciliations.
• Conduct bank reconciliations and monitor cash flow.
• Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
• Prepare journal entries and supporting documentation.
• Ensure compliance with tax regulations and assist in the preparation of tax filings (e.g., PSID preparation, WHT tax filing, PRA filing etc).
• Support external audits by providing required documentation and explanations.
• Stay current on changes in accounting regulations and best practices.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, CA (Inter with articles) or a related field.
• Proven experience (5+ years) as a General Accountant or similar role.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
• Advanced MS Excel skills (e.g., pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, formulas).
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAP S/4 Hana) will be considered an advantage
