The General Assembly Manufacturing Engineer plays a critical role in the setup, validation, and optimization of the new GA line for MMM’s greenfield automotive plant. This position ensures efficient process flow, ergonomic workstation design, and seamless integration of tooling and equipment to achieve production, quality, and safety targets.

As a key member of the GA team, the engineer supports both launch and mass production activities — ensuring smooth operations, implementing process improvements, and maintaining close coordination with cross-functional teams and suppliers.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the development and implementation of GA processes for vehicle assembly, including trim, chassis, final line, and testing areas.

• Define process parameters, line balancing, and workstation layouts to meet production capacity and quality objectives.

• Support installation, commissioning, and validation of GA tooling and equipment during plant setup.

• Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Work Instructions, and quality inspection standards for all GA processes.

• Analyze production performance and implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, ergonomics, and safety.

• Collaborate with product engineering, logistics, and maintenance teams to resolve technical issues and ensure seamless production flow.

• Provide technical training and support to line operators to maintain consistent process execution.

• Ensure strict compliance with safety, environmental, and quality standards.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Automotive Engineering.

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in General Assembly operations in the automotive or related manufacturing industry.

• Strong understanding of process planning, workstation design, and tooling integration.

• Experience with line balancing, PFMEA, and process validation techniques.

• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.

• Proficiency in MS Office and familiarity with AutoCAD or similar layout design software.
