Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced General Counsel for a large QSR Group in Sugar Land, Texas. The ideal candidate will possess a broad range of legal expertise, including but not limited to estate planning, environmental law, immigration law, and litigation. This role requires a strategic thinker who can provide sound legal advice, manage complex legal matters, and ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations. The General Counsel will play a critical role in supporting the organization’s objectives while safeguarding its interests.

Duties

  • Provide legal guidance on various matters including estate planning, environmental law, landlord-tenant law, family law, and personal injury law.
  • Oversee litigation processes and represent the organization in court as necessary.
  • Negotiate contracts and agreements to protect the organization's interests.
  • Conduct legal research utilizing tools such as LexisNexis and Westlaw to support case preparation and strategy.
  • Draft and review legal documents including contracts, policies, and compliance materials.
  • Advise on securities law matters and ensure adherence to relevant regulations.
  • Manage immigration-related issues for employees as needed.
  • Stay updated on changes in laws affecting the organization, including tribal laws and regulations.
  • Collaborate with external counsel when necessary to address specific legal issues or litigation.

Experience

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the bar in the relevant jurisdiction.
  • Proven experience in a law office setting with a focus on various areas of law including but not limited to workers' compensation law, patent law, and litigation.
  • Strong negotiation skills with a track record of successful outcomes in complex negotiations.
  • Excellent writing skills with experience in legal drafting and documentation.
  • Demonstrated ability to conduct thorough legal research and analysis.

Pay: $185,000.00 - $280,258.42 per year
