Role Overview
As the General Counsel for the Middle East, Turkey & Africa, you will serve as the lead lawyer for the region, working closely with business leaders and corporate functions. As such you will be a member of the MET & Africa leadership teams, as well as of the International Markets Legal leadership team. You will be responsible for delivering strategic legal guidance, ensuring compliance with applicable laws, and supporting Atos' business operations and growth initiatives across the region. You will also oversee the application of commercial, company, and competition laws, as well as IP, public procurement regulations, data protection, compliance, litigation management, and special projects.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Legal Advisory Provide high-level and operational legal advice to senior management and business units on a wide range of legal and regulatory matters across the region.

Contract Management Lead the structuring, drafting, and negotiation of complex commercial agreements, including IT outsourcing, software licensing, teaming agreements, and public procurement contracts.

Regulatory Compliance Advise on data protection, competition law, anti-bribery, and public procurement regulations. Collaborate with compliance teams to implement and monitor internal controls.

Corporate Governance Oversee corporate governance matters for regional entities, ensuring compliance with local laws and Atos Group policies.

Dispute Resolution Manage litigation and third-party claims in coordination with external counsel and internal stakeholders.

Cross-functional Collaboration Work in close cooperation with the Atos Group Legal & Compliance Department, regional legal teams, and other central functions.

Team Leadership Supervise and mentor regional legal counsels and contribute to the development of legal talent in the region.

General Legal Advice Provide pragmatic, business-oriented legal advice to support regional leadership and operational teams.

Training and Development Support the implementation of Group policies and appropriate standards, practices, processes, and internal controls relating to business and legal matters. Contribute to the delivery of focused training sessions (classroom or eLearning).
Required Qualifications

Several years of relevant post-qualification experience.

Qualified Lawyer/Solicitor with Law degree from a recognized university; bar admission in at least one jurisdiction.

Minimum 10 years of post-qualification experience, ideally in a multinational or technology-driven environment.

Proven experience in commercial law, IT contracts, contract management, dispute resolution and regulatory compliance.

Strong negotiation and communication skills in English & Arabic; French is a plus.

Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
