As FUZE continues to expand its footprint across the U.S. and internationally, we’re seeking a dynamic General Counsel to join our leadership team and help guide the company through its next phase of growth.

Role Summary

The General Counsel (GC) will serve as FUZE’s chief legal officer, overseeing all legal, compliance, and risk management functions. This leader will act as a key strategic advisor to the CEO and executive team, playing a hands-on role in contract negotiation, employment law, litigation management, corporate governance, and strategic decision-making.

The ideal candidate is a business-minded attorney who thrives in fast-paced, high-growth environments and can balance protecting the company’s interests with enabling innovation and operational speed.

Key Responsibilities

Legal & Corporate Governance

• Serve as FUZE’s chief legal advisor to the CEO, leadership team, and Board of Directors
• Oversee all corporate governance matters, including board meetings, minutes, resolutions, and compliance
• Manage outside counsel for corporate, regulatory, and litigation matters
• Support strategic transactions, including fundraising, M&A, and commercial partnerships

Commercial & Contract Management

• Draft, negotiate, and review a wide range of contracts: vendor, commercial, licensing, distribution, partnership, and NDA agreements
• Establish internal templates, processes, and approval workflows to streamline deal execution
• Provide guidance on risk mitigation and compliance in commercial arrangements

Employment & HR Legal

• Serve as the executive lead for HR, managing all people-related functions
• Advise on employee relations, hiring, terminations, and workplace practices
• Develop and enforce company policies, employee handbooks, and compliance with labor laws
• Guide performance management, disciplinary actions, and dispute resolution.

Compliance, Litigation & Risk

• Build FUZE’s legal infrastructure and compliance programs across privacy, data protection, and product liability
• Manage disputes, pre-litigation matters, and coordinate outside counsel on active cases
• Proactively assess and mitigate legal and regulatory risk across business units

Strategic Guidance & Board Engagement

• Participate in board and executive meetings to provide legal and business guidance
• Partner with the CEO and leadership team to align legal strategy with FUZE’s growth goals
• Serve as a trusted advisor on key strategic decisions, balancing innovation with compliance

Qualifications

• J.D. from an accredited law school and active bar membership (in good standing)
• 4-8+ years of experience practicing law, including time at a top law firm and in-house counsel role
• Strong understanding of commercial contracts, corporate governance, and employment law
• Demonstrated ability to manage complex legal issues with sound business judgment
• Exceptional communication and negotiation skills with a proactive, collaborative approach

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $175,000.00 - $200,000.00 per year
