Key Responsibilities

1.

Dignified Personal Care for Women Patients

Assist women patients, including bedridden and those undergoing treatment, with activities of daily living such as bathing, grooming, menstrual and personal hygiene care, oral care, toileting, feeding, and safe positioning while ensuring privacy and dignity.

Ensure comfort and well-being of women patients through proper bedding, posture alignment, pain relief support, and prevention of pressure sores and skin complications.

Maintain high standards of hygiene and a clean, safe, and women-friendly care environment at all times to support recovery and overall health.

2. Patient Handling and Mobility Support

Safely assist patients with turning, repositioning, and limited mobility using correct patient-handling techniques, ensuring respect for women patients.

Use appropriate tools and equipment to prevent injury to both patient and self.

Follow safety and risk-management protocols during all patient movement activities.

3. Basic Health Monitoring and Care Support

Monitor and report vital signs, pain levels, physical discomfort, and visible changes in the patient’s condition.

Observe and promptly report warning signs or symptoms to supervisors or medical staff.

Assist with basic procedures such as oxygen support, sample collection, post-procedure care, and supportive care for women receiving cancer treatment, as instructed.

4. Disease Awareness and Medication Support

Understand common diseases and conditions affecting bedridden patients.

Support adherence to cancer treatment schedules and follow-up appointments through reminders and coordination.

5. Infection Prevention and Control

Follow strict and standard infection-control practices.

Prevent common infections such as respiratory infections, UTIs, gastrointestinal and skin infections.

Handle and dispose biomedical waste safely as per guidelines.

6. Compassionate and Respectful Psychological and Emotional Care & Companionship

Provide emotional support, companionship, and meaningful interaction to reduce loneliness and distress.

Create a positive, respectful, and reassuring environment for the patient.

Support mental well-being through conversation, engagement, empathy, and encouragement for women navigating cancer diagnosis and treatment.

7. Communication and Coordination

Communicate effectively with patients, families, nurses, doctors, and supervisors.

Coordinate with community health teams to support women in cancer screening, referral, treatment linkage, and follow-up care.

Maintain respectful relationships with families while preserving patient dignity and privacy.

8. Documentation and Reporting

Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential records of daily care activities and observations.

Report changes in patient condition, incidents, or concerns promptly.

9. Ethics, Professional Conduct, and Compliance

Uphold patient rights including dignity, privacy, autonomy, and informed consent.

Adhere to ethical guidelines, legal responsibilities, and organizational policies.

Maintain professionalism, punctuality, and appropriate workplace behaviour.

Qualifications and Experience

Minimum: Completion of GDA / Caregiver training for bedridden patients (or equivalent certification).

Preferred: 3–6 months of hands-on experience in home care, hospital, or long-term care settings.

Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in local language (basic English desirable).

Working Conditions

Field-based role involving home visits and community sessions

Physical and Emotional Requirements

Ability to assist with lifting, repositioning, and prolonged standing as required

Emotional resilience to work with seriously ill or dependent patients

Willingness to work flexible hours, including shifts if required

Emotional resilience to work with seriously ill, dependent patients, and women facing cancer-related challenges

Working Conditions

Home-based care, hospitals, or community settings

Exposure to patients with chronic illnesses and infections (with protective measures)

Supervised clinical and caregiving environment

Job Types: Full-time, Contractual / Temporary
Contract length: 6 months

Pay: ₹15,500.00 - ₹20,000.00 per month
