Job Summary
We are looking for a dedicated and patient-focused OPD Assistant to support the smooth functioning of the Outpatient Department. The ideal candidate will assist patients, coordinate appointments, maintain records, and support medical staff while ensuring high standards of patient care, safety, and confidentiality.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet patients, verify personal and insurance details, and complete OPD registration.
- Schedule, coordinate, and confirm patient appointments efficiently.
- Maintain accurate electronic and manual patient records, including medical history and treatment details.
- Assist with billing processes, insurance verification, and respond to patient queries regarding payments and claims.
- Act as a liaison between patients, doctors, nurses, and hospital staff, ensuring clear and timely communication.
- Support doctors and nurses during examinations and procedures as required.
- Measure and record vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and weight.
- Provide basic information to patients regarding prescribed medications and treatments under medical guidance.
- Ensure patient comfort and safety in waiting and examination areas; prepare rooms and restock supplies.
- Follow hospital policies, protocols, and standards related to patient care, safety, and confidentiality.
- Assist during medical emergencies in accordance with hospital emergency procedures.
Qualifications & Skills
- Relevant healthcare qualification or experience in OPD / hospital setting preferred
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Basic knowledge of medical terminology and hospital procedures
- Ability to handle patient records and billing systems
- Compassionate, organized, and team-oriented
