Position Title: Duty Medical Officer

Reports To: Chief Medical Officer

Job Purpose:

To provide continuous and comprehensive medical care to patients during the assigned shift, ensuring prompt assessment, management, and coordination of patient needs as per hospital protocol.

Key Responsibilities:

• Attend to all emergency and routine cases in coordination with the nursing and clinical staff.
• Perform initial patient assessments and provide treatment based on clinical findings.
• Monitor patients admitted under various departments and update consultants regularly.
• Provide immediate medical intervention in case of clinical deterioration.
• Handle medico-legal cases with proper documentation and procedures.
• Ensure all patient records, reports, and discharge summaries are updated accurately.
• Respond to Code Blue and other emergencies promptly.
• Communicate with patient attendants clearly regarding patient condition, care plans, and progress.
• Ensure compliance with infection control, patient safety, and ethical medical practices.
• Submit end-of-shift reports and ensure proper handover to incoming shift doctors.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• MBBS from a recognized university with valid registration (mandatory)
• Minimum 1–3 years of clinical experience in a hospital setting
• BLS and ACLS certification preferred
• Ability to work in rotational shifts including nights and weekends

Working Hours

• Rotational shifts / Based on hospital schedule
