General Foreman

Job Summary:

The General Foreman is responsible for supervising and coordinating the activities of workers and subcontractors on a construction site to ensure the successful execution of construction projects. This role involves daily oversight of site operations, ensuring safety standards are met, productivity targets are achieved, and quality is maintained in line with project specifications and timelines.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise and coordinate site activities including labor, equipment, and materials.
• Oversee subcontractors and ensure work is carried out to specifications and schedule.
• Interpret construction drawings, plans, and specifications.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards.
• Plan and schedule work to meet deadlines and milestones.
• Conduct regular site inspections and toolbox talks.
• Maintain daily logs and reports on labor, progress, equipment, and materials.
• Coordinate with the project manager and other foremen to resolve on-site issues.
• Monitor inventory and request materials in a timely manner.
• Ensure quality control and report any deviations from plans or specifications.
• Train and mentor junior staff and site workers as needed.

Required Qualifications & Experience:

• Minimum [5–10] years of experience in construction, including supervisory roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or trade certification preferred.
• Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and tools.
• Proven ability to read and interpret technical documents and drawings.
• Familiarity with site safety standards (e.g., OSHA, local HSE regulations).
• Experience coordinating with multiple trades and subcontractors.
