General Helper – Fit-Out Company
Job Description: Duties & Responsibilities
A General Helper in a fit-out company assists skilled workers and supports day-to-day site operations to ensure projects are completed safely and efficiently.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist carpenters, painters, electricians, plumbers, gypsum workers, and other fit-out trades as required.
- Load, unload, transport, and organize construction materials, tools, and equipment.
- Prepare work areas before the start of tasks and clean up after work is completed.
- Help with the installation of fit-out materials, furniture, fixtures, and equipment under supervision.
- Carry out basic manual labor tasks such as lifting, carrying, packing, and moving materials.
- Maintain cleanliness and housekeeping standards on project sites, workshops, and storage areas.
- Follow instructions from supervisors and site engineers to support project activities.
- Assist in receiving, checking, and storing materials and supplies.
- Ensure tools and equipment are kept in good condition and stored properly after use.
- Support site logistics and material handling activities.
- Follow company health, safety, and environmental procedures at all times.
- Report any unsafe conditions, damaged tools, or site issues to the supervisor immediately.
- Perform other duties assigned by management as required.
Requirements
- Previous experience in construction, interior fit-out, or a similar field is an advantage.
- Physically fit and able to perform manual labor tasks.
- Ability to work in a team environment and follow instructions.
- Basic understanding of workplace safety practices.
- Willingness to work flexible hours when required.
