General Laborer – C&D Recycling / Transfer Facility

Position Summary

We are seeking a dependable General Laborer for our Construction & Demolition (C&D) recycling facility. This role is responsible for helping keep the facility clean, safe, and operating efficiently through material sorting, site cleanup, and support of daily yard operations.

This is a hands-on, physical position best suited for someone who is comfortable working outdoors, around equipment, and in a fast-paced industrial environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Sort incoming C&D materials including wood, metal, cardboard, concrete, and mixed debris
• Remove unacceptable materials and contaminants from loads
• Perform general cleanup of tipping floors, yard areas, and work zones
• Assist with container staging, loading, and site organization
• Sweep, shovel, and maintain clean work areas throughout the shift
• Work safely around loaders, skid steers, excavators, and truck traffic
• Follow all PPE and facility safety procedures
• Support supervisors and equipment operators with daily tasks as needed

Requirements

• Reliable attendance and ability to arrive on time for early shifts
• Ability to lift 50–75 lbs repeatedly
• Comfortable working in dust, noise, heat, cold, and outdoor conditions
• Ability to stand, bend, walk, and perform physical work for full shifts
• Must be safety-minded and willing to wear PPE at all times
• Previous labor, warehouse, demolition, landscaping, waste, recycling, or construction experience preferred
• Forklift, skid steer, or heavy equipment awareness is a plus

Schedule

• Full-time
• Day shift

Compensation

• $20.00–$23.00 per hour based on experience, attendance, and equipment awareness
