WHY DO WE NEED YOU?
The primary function of the General Plant Laborer is to provide a wide range of miscellaneous support to General Plant Clean Up, Waste Management, Recycling etc. Significant portion of the daily tasks may involve operating industrial powered vehicles (Forklifts and Sweepers) with common tasks listed (but not limited to) as follows:
- Conduct General Plant Labor activities such as: sweeping, cleaning, painting, housekeeping or assisting production operators.
- Operate industrial sweepers indoors and outdoors and powered industrial forklifts.
- Collect satellite recycling bins: (Paper, Plastic, Cans).
- Assist with the bottled water inventory and distribution.
- Expected to learn and bid on Production Operator openings when they occur.
- Conduct required Forklift startup and inspection checklists each shift
- Ensure adherence to waste management and recycling responsibilities
- Participate in Incident & Near Miss Investigations to determine root cause and corrective actions
- Participate in the development, understanding and review of related Job Safety Analysis and/or Standard Operating Procedures
- Be an active participant in 5S continuous improvement activities.
- May be required to perform other duties as requested, directed or assigned by Supervisor

Qualifications & Skills:
- High School Graduate or equivalent (GED)
- Satisfactorily complete and maintain Forklift Certification
- Must have good communication skills and follow directions with a strong safety focus.
- Must be able to prioritize daily tasks
- Must be reliable and have excellent attendance practices.
- Self-starter with ability to work alone or as a team with other employees.
- Must have general technical ability and understanding of basic machine processes with strong focus on safety aspects.
- Upon hire, become a member of the International Brotherhood of Teamsters Local 970
- Ability to work all shifts and weekends/holidays if needed.

We believe in the importance of pay transparency in what we offer potential candidates. Provided is the pay rate for this position which is $25.66 per hour, plus shift differential (see below.) In addition to the hourly base pay rate, this position is eligible for an annual bonus. The targeted bonus amount is 7% and can be up to 21% of eligible earnings based on company and plant performance measures. Bonus payments are part of variable compensation and by nature can vary based on company performance and is not a guarantee.
Additional Pay Incentives for This Role Include:
- Shift Differentials: Hourly Rate plus 2nd Shift Differential of $.45/ hr if working 3P-11P; Hourly Rate plus 3rd Shift Differential of $.55/ hr if working 11P-7A and Hourly Rate plus 3rd Shift Differential of $.63, if working 7pm-7am Shift)
- Standard Overtime (Hourly Rate * 1.5x)
- Attendance Incentive for Meeting Company Attendance Requirements (starts at $200/yr)
- Weekend Shift Incentive - (All Sundays worked is 2.0x per hour)
