General Maintenance Technician - Country Club

Deerwood Country Club, one of Northeast Florida's premiere country clubs, is seeking a skilled and reliable General Maintenance Technician. This full-time position plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation and upkeep of the country club’s facilities. Reporting directly to the Director of Engineering, the technician is responsible for performing a wide range of maintenance tasks, including repairs, inspections, and preventative maintenance throughout the property.

The ideal candidate will support the club’s commitment to providing a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for members, guests, and staff by addressing facility needs promptly and professionally. This position is scheduled Monday through Friday.

Responsibilities:

• Perform routine maintenance and repairs on club facilities including plumbing, carpentry, and general upkeep.
• Conduct regular inspections of the property to identify and address maintenance needs proactively.
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests and work orders from staff and management.
• Assist with setup and breakdown for club events, including furniture arrangement and equipment handling.
• Maintain cleanliness and safety of maintenance areas, tools, and equipment.
• Support preventative maintenance programs under the direction of the Director of Engineering.
• Monitor and report any safety hazards or facility issues to the Director of Engineering.
• Collaborate with vendors and contractors as needed for specialized repairs or installations.
• Follow safety guidelines in compliance with state, federal and local regulations.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Engineering.

Skills/Qualifications:

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in general maintenance, facilities support, or a similar role.
• Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical and carpentry; HVAC skills a plus.
• Ability to safely operate hand and power tools, maintenance equipment, and machinery.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Good communication skills and a customer-service-oriented attitude.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Physical ability to lift heavy objects, climb ladders, and perform manual labor in various weather conditions.
• Valid driver’s license.
