Scope of Work:
The General Maintenance Worker performs routine upkeep and repairs on buildings, equipment, and facilities, often involving skills from multiple trades like electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and HVAC. They are responsible for preventative maintenance, fixing issues from broken pipes to worn-out machinery, and may also perform tasks such as painting, minor construction, and landscape maintenance.

Responsibilities:
  • Repairing and maintaining aspects of buildings such as roofs, floors, walls, windows, and doors.
  • Performing a variety of tasks that may require specialized skills, including basic carpentry, plumbing, and electrical work.
  • Conducting regular inspections and performing scheduled maintenance to prevent future breakdowns.
  • Fixing items like light fixtures, plumbing fixtures, drains, and HVAC units.
  • Performing tasks that may involve heavy lifting, using tools like hammers, drills, and wrenches, and working with various materials.
  • Helping skilled trades workers with more difficult maintenance and repair activities.


  • Using plaster or compound to patch minor holes and cracks in walls and ceilings.
  • Repairing or replacing faucets and drain assemblies, water coolers, and toilets.
  • Painting structures and equipment.
  • Pressure washing.
  • Gutter cleaning.
  • Replacing damaged paneling and floor/ceiling tiles.
  • Hanging doors and installing door locks.
  • Replacing broken windowpanes.
  • Minor roof repairs.
  • Performing general maintenance on equipment and machinery.
  • Will be required to be on a rotating after hours on call schedule.
  • Consistently produces quality products and service.
  • Completes all training within required timeline.
  • Performs all work in a safe and secure manner.
  • Adhere to company policies, procedures, and safety regulations.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Must have a minimum of four (4) years related experience and/or formal vocational/technical training in a variety of building and/or utility trades. Each complete year of accredited college education in a related field may be substituted for the equivalent number of years of required experience.
  • Keen attention to detail and situational awareness to maintain the safety of the work environment.
  • Strong work ethic.
  • Must possess the ability to work in a team or alone and be able to change jobs on short notice.
  • Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Must have knowledge of worksite safety, occupational hazards, and standard safety practices.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid state driver’s license and a safe driving record, in accordance with company policy, to operate vehicles or equipment as required for the position.
Physical Demands / Work Environment:
  • Physical requirements include (but are not limited to) the ability to lift 50 pounds, pushing, pulling, carrying, stooping, bending, squatting, and reaching for long periods of time.
  • Must be able to work on-call, alternate, and extended shift schedules when necessary to meet the mission requirements, including weekends and holidays.
  • Work may be performed indoors or outdoors in varying weather conditions. Must be able to work in confined spaces, at heights, and around various hazards with appropriate PPE.

All candidates must successfully complete pre-employment screening, which may include but is not limited to a criminal background check, motor vehicle record review, and a 5-panel drug test, in accordance with company policy and applicable laws.
