General Maintenance Worker (Waste Management)

The minimum salary is $21.168 per hour
This position is eligible for overtime (non-exempt), if applicable.
Pay Grade 515

This position is eligible to receive hazardous duty supplemental pay at $90/month ($0.52 per hour) upon hire.

The purpose of this classification is to perform a variety of maintenance and repair tasks to support the upkeep and functionality of municipal buildings, grounds, and infrastructure as well as assisting certified or licensed workers with their tasks.

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
• Two (2) years of related experience
• Additional years of related education may substitute for years of experience

• Performs a variety of semi-skilled maintenance and repair tasks including carpentry, plumbing, painting, electrical work, and HVAC support under general supervision
• Assists certified or licensed workers with their tasks and collaborate with other maintenance staff and departments to ensure timely completion
• Respond to service requests and perform corrective maintenance to resolve facility and infrastructure issues
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, materials used, and work orders
• Operate and maintain hand and power tools, groundskeeping equipment, and maintenance vehicles safely and efficiently
• Performs related work as assigned

All Certifications and licenses must be maintained as a condition of employment.

Position number 4554 is required to obtain a valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class B within the first six (6) months of employment
