We are seeking a dynamic and experienced General Manager to lead our team, elevate operations, and bring our brand vision to life — combining world-class service with the warmth of Afro-Caribbean hospitality.

Position Summary

The General Manager is responsible for the overall success of the restaurant and lounge — overseeing daily operations, financial performance, staffing, and guest satisfaction. This leader will cultivate an atmosphere that reflects the richness of African and Caribbean culture, ensuring every guest enjoys an exceptional and authentic experience.

Key ResponsibilitiesOperations & Leadership

  • Oversee daily restaurant and lounge operations, ensuring smooth service flow and consistent guest satisfaction.
  • Implement and maintain high standards of service, cleanliness, and presentation aligned with the AG brand.
  • Collaborate with the Executive Chef to maintain food and beverage quality, consistency, and profitability.
  • Monitor and manage inventory, purchasing, and vendor relationships.
  • Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal health, safety, and liquor regulations.

Team Management

  • Recruit, train, and mentor a diverse, high-performing team of managers and staff.
  • Create a positive work environment rooted in respect, accountability, and cultural pride.
  • Conduct regular team meetings, evaluations, and performance reviews.
  • Develop and execute training programs focused on service excellence and Afro-Caribbean hospitality.

Financial & Strategic Oversight

  • Manage budgets, labor costs, and profit margins to achieve revenue goals.
  • Review P&L statements, analyze performance metrics, and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Partner with ownership to develop marketing and event strategies that drive traffic and engagement.
  • Lead initiatives to enhance brand visibility through partnerships, community involvement, and cultural events.

Guest Experience & Brand Ambassadorship

  • Lead by example in delivering personalized, memorable guest experiences.
  • Handle guest concerns with professionalism and a solutions-driven mindset.
  • Serve as the face of the brand—building relationships with patrons, partners, and the local community.
  • Ensure that every guest interaction reflects the warmth and sophistication of Afro-Caribbean culture.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of progressive leadership experience in upscale restaurant, lounge, or hospitality management.
  • Strong background in fine dining and bar/lounge operations.
  • Deep appreciation for African and Caribbean cuisine, music, and culture.
  • Proven ability to manage large teams, control costs, and drive profitability.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
  • Must be flexible to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Job Type: Full-time

Base Pay: $73,701.46 - $88,758.75 per year
