Department: Strategic Development Region Pakistan Business Branch
Key Responsibilities:
I. Strategy & Business Development
Develop and execute the comprehensive country business strategy for Pakistan, aligning with the group's global objectives to ensure long-term growth and competitive advantage.
Lead the cultivation and strengthening of strategic relationships with key national clients (e.g., PPL, OGDCL, PSO), major IOCs, and relevant government authorities to secure new business and expand market presence.
Direct thorough market research and competitor analysis to anticipate industry trends, identify new service line opportunities, and evaluate potential partnerships or JVs within Pakistan's oil & gas sector.
Personally oversee and drive high-stakes negotiations for major projects and contracts, ensuring favorable terms and successful market entry or expansion.
II. Operations & P&L Management
Hold full P&L responsibility for the Pakistan business unit, driving revenue growth, optimizing costs, and ensuring the achievement of all financial and operational KPIs.
Provide overarching leadership to all operational functions (Projects, Finance, HR, HSE, Supply Chain), ensuring seamless execution, strict compliance with HSE standards, and on-time, on-budget project delivery.
Build, mentor, and lead a high-caliber local leadership team, fostering a culture of excellence, accountability, safety, and continuous improvement.
Ensure strict adherence to all local legal, regulatory, and corporate governance requirements, as well as group policies.
Qualifications:
1. Education & Background
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Petroleum, Mechanical, Chemical), Business Administration, or a related field. An MBA or advanced management degree is strongly preferred.
Nationality: Pakistani nationals are highly preferred.
2. Work Experience
A minimum of 10 years of experience in the oil & gas or oilfield services industry, with at least 5 years in a management role in the Pakistan market.
Prior senior management experience with a major international oilfield service company (e.g., SLB, Halliburton, Baker Hughes, Weatherford) or a leading Big Oil Company (e.g., KOC, ADNOC, PDO) is highly advantageous.
3. Professional Competencies
Deep and comprehensive understanding of Pakistan's energy sector dynamics, economic landscape, regulatory framework, and cultural nuances.
Demonstrated success in business development, strategic planning, and full-cycle contract management in a complex environment.
Strong financial acumen with experience in budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, and risk management.
Exceptional leadership and people management skills, with a history of building, developing, and retaining high-performance teams.
4. Language & Communication
Fluency in Urdu and English is mandatory (both written and spoken).
Outstanding communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence at the highest levels.
Proficiency in Chinese or other regional languages is a plus.
5. Personal Attributes
Strategic thinker with strong commercial acumen and an entrepreneurial drive.
Decisive leader with high integrity, resilience, and a strong sense of responsibility.
Able to operate effectively under pressure and navigate complex, multicultural business environments.
6. Others
An extensive, established network within Pakistan's oil & gas industry and government circles is a critical requirement.
Must be willing and able to travel extensively within Pakistan and occasionally internationally.
