General Manager – Aerospace Manufacturing

We are seeking a hands-on General Manager to lead regulatory compliance, quality systems, and strategic initiatives, while partnering closely with ownership, government agencies, and customers.
Position Overview
The ideal candidate is highly experienced in government regulatory environments (FAA, export compliance, quality systems, etc.), thrives in a small-business setting, and is comfortable being both strategic and hands-on.
This role is focused on regulatory leadership, compliance oversight, and organizational support.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as primary liaison with the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) (ACO, MIDO, FSDO). Prepare, review, submit, and manage FAA PMA applications, including follow-through and issue resolution
- Prepare for, manage, and remediate FAA audits across all applicable divisions as well as maintain and update the FAA Repair Station Manual
- Lead Export Compliance Program, including: new customer and order review, export classification and licensing, filing export documentation, completion of End-Use Certificates (EUCs), conducting internal export compliance training
- Ensure compliance with AS9100 / ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems, including: maintaining and updating QMS documentation, preparing and managing internal and external audits, completing customer supplier surveys, leading annual management review processes
- Support manufacturing process improvement initiatives by identifying issues and implementing corrective and preventive actions to improve efficiency and reduce waste
- Review government contracts for packaging requirements and develop appropriate packaging instructions, manage government contract terminations as required
- Serve as company interface with OSHA, including: Filing required documentation, coordinating and conducting safety training
- Lead Cybersecurity compliance efforts, including: Implementing requirements aligned with CMMC, preparing for certification and managing related audits
Secondary Responsibilities
- Represent the company at trade shows, conferences, and industry events
- Prepare sales forecasts when requested
- Support long-term strategic initiatives and projects
- Remain current on changes in U.S. and global regulatory requirements impacting the business
Qualifications
- Experience in aerospace manufacturing (required)
- Strong background in regulatory compliance, quality systems, and leadership
- Working knowledge of FAA regulations, PMA processes, and audit environments
- Experience with AS9100 and/or ISO 9001 systems and audits
- Experience with export/import compliance regulations
- Strong communication and leadership skills in a team-oriented environment
- Proficiency in Microsoft 365 (Excel, Teams, PowerPoint, etc.)
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary range: $90,000 – $110,000, commensurate with experience

Schedule
Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (on-site)
Minimum Requirements (Must Meet to Be Considered)

- Direct experience in aerospace manufacturing (non-aerospace experience alone is not sufficient)
- Working knowledge of FAA regulations and experience interacting with FAA offices (ACO, MIDO, and/or FSDO)
- Proven experience with AS9100 and/or ISO 9001 quality systems
- Experience with FAA PMA processes (submissions, documentation, or support)
- Demonstrated leadership experience in a regulated manufacturing environment
- Must be able to work on-site in Bridgeport, CT (this is not a remote or hybrid position)
- Must currently reside in a commutable distance to Bridgeport, Connecticut or have immediate plans to relocate (relocation assistance is not provided)
- Must be authorized to work in the United States
- Must be willing to complete pre-employment drug screening, background check, and competency assessment
