Job Summary
The General Manager – Fit-Out will be responsible for the overall leadership, strategic direction, and operational performance of the interior fit-out business. This role oversees projects from tendering through execution and handover, ensures profitability, drives business growth, and maintains the highest standards of quality, safety, and client satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic & Business Leadership
- Define and implement business strategies aligned with company goals
- Identify new market opportunities and expand client base
- Lead business development, key client relationships, and strategic partnerships
- Prepare annual budgets, forecasts, and growth plans
Operations & Project Management
- Oversee end-to-end execution of multiple fit-out projects (commercial, residential, hospitality, retail)
- Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and as per specifications
- Monitor project KPIs, productivity, and cost controls
- Coordinate with design, estimation, procurement, and site teams
Financial Management
- Manage P&L, cash flow, project margins, and cost optimization
- Approve project budgets, variations, and final accounts
- Control overheads and improve operational efficiency
Team Leadership & HR
- Lead, mentor, and develop senior managers, project managers, and department heads
- Build a high-performance culture focused on accountability and results
- Support recruitment, performance evaluation, and succession planning
Quality, Safety & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with UAE regulations, authority approvals, and company policies
- Implement and maintain QA/QC and HSE standards across all projects
- Manage risk, contractual obligations, and dispute resolution
Client & Stakeholder Management
- Act as the main point of contact for key clients, consultants, and stakeholders
- Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and repeat business
- Handle escalations, negotiations, and contract management
Requirements & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, Interior Design, or related field
- MBA or Project Management certification is an advantage
- 15+ years of experience in the fit-out / interior contracting industry
- 5+ years in a senior leadership role (General Manager / Operations Director / Project Director)
- Strong knowledge of UAE market, authorities, and fit-out practices
- Proven track record in managing large-scale fit-out projects
- Excellent leadership, negotiation, and communication skills
- Valid UAE driving license preferred
