Job Title: General Manager – Structural Steel & Fabrication

Position Summary:

The General Manager (GM) – Structural Steel & Fabrication is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the company’s construction operations, including project planning, budgeting, scheduling, quality control, estimating, procurement and client relations. This role ensures that all projects are completed safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality. The GM provides strategic leadership to drive company growth, operational excellence, and team performance.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership

  • Develop and implement strategic plans to achieve company goals and growth targets.
  • Oversee business development efforts, including bidding, estimating, and client acquisition.
  • Identify new market opportunities and partnerships to expand company operations.

Operational Management

  • Supervise all construction activities from pre-construction through project closeout.
  • Manage project budgets, schedules, and resources to ensure profitability and client satisfaction.
  • Oversee procurement, subcontractor management, and contract negotiations.
  • Implement and enforce operational policies, safety programs, and quality control standards.

Team Leadership

  • Recruit, train, and mentor project managers and support staff.
  • Promote a positive work culture focused on teamwork, accountability, and professional growth.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and develop succession plans for key roles.

Client Relations

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, vendors, and contractors.
  • Lead project meetings and resolve issues to ensure client satisfaction.

Qualifications:

Education & Experience

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent (Required).
  • Experience in construction or similar trade.
  • Leadership experience
  • Basic Computer Knowledge (Excel, Word, Email, Electronic Software)
  • Proven track record managing multiple commercial, residential or infrastructure projects.

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong leadership, communication, and decision-making skills.
  • Be organized, prompt and able to manage time appropriately.
  • Excellent knowledge of construction processes, codes, and safety regulations.
  • Proficient in project management software (e.g., Procore, MS Project).
  • Ability to build and lead high-performing teams in a fast-paced environment.

Working Conditions:

  • Based at company headquarters with regular visits to project sites.
  • May require occasional travel to client or partner locations.
  • Fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

Salary Compensation:

· Based on experience.

· Holiday paid time.

· Paid time off (per company policy)

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $52,000.00 - $82,000.00 per year
