Job Description:

The Operations Manager is responsible for the management of all activities related to the assigned Marken operations. Responsibilities include full P&L, operational service delivery and quality, client relationships and key account management, operational excellence, and optimization. Responsible for both strategic and tactical day-to-day management of the business, overseeing operational logistics, leading the operational team, developing client relationships and sales growth, and delivering excellent service standards. On a strategic level, work closely with the executive team, regional management, and your branch management direct reports to drive process improvement and operational change. Ensure high-quality work through clear leadership and motivate the team to deliver high performance and growth. Also, assist in developing strategies and tactics for improving operational efficiencies for global harmonization. The role has full accountability for P&L.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Growing the business, client base, accounts, and strategic relationships through close collaboration with the BD unit
  • Delivering exceptional services of the highest quality
  • Satisfying and building loyalty with our clients
  • Perform in full compliance with regulatory (e.g., GDP, DG, etc.) and Marken requirements
  • Delivering financial results at, or better than, approved budgets
  • Achieving operational excellence by continually improving operational performance (quality, delivery, productivity, cost effectiveness)
  • Managing third parties (local agents, airlines, suppliers, etc.) to ensure compliance with all marketing and regulatory requirements and expectations
  • Ensuring safety/healthy/environmentally responsible facilities, operations, and staff conditions
  • Developing and implementing strategic plans in cooperation with the other regions' logistics leadership and Marken global leadership teams
  • Maximizing shareholder value in line with Marken's strategic business plan
  • Contributing to corporate initiatives and sharing/incorporating network best practices
  • Creating innovative and commercially unique offerings to increase Marken's value to our clients

Required Qualifications:

  • Min 2-3 years' experience in healthcare or related industry
  • Min 5 years' experience in logistics operations, with a minimum of branch management experience
  • Operations, customer service, and or commercial experience in healthcare supply chain/services/logistics
  • P&L or cost center experience
  • Contract management experience
  • Line leadership experience
  • Financial acumen
  • Effective stakeholder and vendor management
  • GDP guidelines awareness
  • Strong analytical, negotiation, strategic planning, resource management, and leadership skills
  • Excellent computer skills and proficiency in Excel, Word, Outlook, and Access
  • Ability to build strong relationships with strategic customers
  • Flexibility in working hours required, and ability to provide Weekend coverage as needed

Desired Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience
  • Specialist Courier experience
  • Lean/Sigma certification
