General Manager – Nourish Café

Location: 141 Alexander Ave, Bronx, NY 10454
Salary Range: $65,000 – $80,000 (commensurate with experience)

About Nourish Café

Nourish Café is a mission-driven restaurant and community hub in the South Bronx. We combine high-quality dining with workforce development, reinvesting 100% of profits into programs that support local youth, families, and community members. We are looking for a dedicated and experienced General Manager (GM) to oversee daily operations, lead our team, and help us continue building a thriving, community-centered business.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day restaurant operations, ensuring excellent service and guest satisfaction
• Hire, train, and manage front-of-house and back-of-house staff
• Develop and maintain operational policies and systems (scheduling, payroll, inventory, etc.)
• Manage vendor relationships, ordering, and cost controls
• Drive sales, monitor performance metrics, and implement strategies to achieve revenue goals
• Ensure compliance with NYC health, labor, and safety regulations
• Collaborate with ownership on marketing, events, and community engagement initiatives
• Uphold Nourish Café’s mission and values in all aspects of management

Qualifications

• 3–5+ years of management experience in a restaurant, café, or hospitality environment (GM experience strongly preferred)
• Proven ability to lead teams, manage operations, and deliver results
• Strong knowledge of restaurant financials, including budgeting, cost controls, and reporting
• Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as needed
• Passion for food, hospitality, and community-driven work

Compensation & Benefits
