Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic General Manager - Restaurant to oversee daily operations and ensure exceptional guest experiences. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive restaurant management experience, and a passion for the food service industry. This role requires a comprehensive understanding of food preparation, customer service, staff training, and financial management within a fast-paced hospitality environment. The General Manager will be responsible for maintaining high standards of food safety, quality, and service while driving operational excellence and team development.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage all aspects of restaurant operations, including food service, kitchen management, and customer satisfaction.
- Oversee staff hiring, training, supervision, and performance evaluations to foster a motivated and efficient team.
- Ensure adherence to food safety standards and proper handling procedures in compliance with health regulations.
- Manage inventory control, ordering supplies, and controlling costs to optimize profitability.
- Supervise food preparation processes, ensuring quality standards are met consistently across all menu items.
- Oversee POS systems such as Aloha POS and Micros POS for accurate cash handling and sales reporting.
- Implement shift management strategies to ensure smooth transitions between shifts and optimal staffing levels.
- Conduct regular staff training sessions on food safety, customer service, and operational procedures.
- Monitor customer feedback and address concerns promptly to enhance guest satisfaction.
- Develop and enforce policies related to hospitality management, food production, catering services, and bar operations if applicable.
- Collaborate with vendors and suppliers to maintain quality standards and cost efficiency.
- Assist in budgeting, financial planning, and analyzing sales reports to meet business goals.
Qualifications
- Proven management experience within the food industry, preferably in quick service & fast food or casual dining environments.
- Strong background in food preparation, culinary techniques, and kitchen management.
- Experience supervising staff in hospitality or restaurant settings; team management skills essential.
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in food handling and sanitation.
- Excellent leadership abilities with a focus on training & development, staff mentoring, and performance improvement.
- Exceptional customer service skills with the ability to resolve issues effectively.
- Ability to manage inventory control, budgeting, and operational costs efficiently.
- Previous experience in restaurant management or assistant manager roles is highly desirable; hospitality or hotel experience is a plus.
