General Nurse – Dental Assistant (Qatar)

Role Summary

Provide chairside dental assistance and nursing support to the dental team while maintaining high standards of sterilization, infection control, patient safety, and clinic efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

Chairside / Clinical Support

• Assist dentists during examinations, treatments, and minor surgical procedures.
• Prepare treatment rooms (instruments, materials, suction, disposables) before and after procedures.
• Support efficient four-handed dentistry and patient flow.
• Monitor patient comfort and assist with basic observations/vitals when required.

Infection Control & Sterilization

• Perform cleaning, disinfection, packaging, and sterilization of instruments according to clinic protocol.
• Maintain sterilization logs and monitor autoclave indicators/cycles.
• Ensure correct PPE use, clinical waste disposal, and hygiene compliance.

Patient Care & Education

• Prepare patients for procedures, explain basic steps, and provide post-treatment instructions.
• Support patient education on oral hygiene and follow-up care.
• Escalate any clinical concerns to the dentist/clinical lead.

Clinic Operations

• Support documentation and patient records as needed.
• Maintain consumables inventory, check expiry dates, and report shortages.
• Coordinate with reception/clinical team to ensure smooth scheduling and readiness.

Requirements

• Valid General Nursing/Dental Assistant license (Qatar / QCHP or transferable eligibility preferred).
• Previous dental assisting experience is a plus (training can be provided).
• knowledge of infection control and sterilization.
• Professional communication and patient handling skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and as part of a team.
