We are seeking a skilled and reliable General Technician with expertise in kitchen equipment maintenance and repair. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing general maintenance duties across the facility while also servicing, troubleshooting, and repairing a variety of kitchen appliances and systems, including commercial kitchen equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform routine maintenance and repair tasks on building systems (e.g., electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry).
- Inspect, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain kitchen equipment such as:
- Ovens, ranges, fryers, grills, dishwashers, refrigerators, freezers, and mixers.
- Exhaust hoods and ventilation systems.
- Gas and electrical kitchen appliances.
- Conduct preventive maintenance according to manufacturer specifications and facility schedules.
- Ensure kitchen equipment operates safely and efficiently.
- Maintain accurate service records and report all major repair needs.
- Assist with facility upgrades, renovations, and installations as needed.
- Respond to service requests and emergency maintenance issues in a timely manner.
- Follow safety protocols and comply with health & safety standards (e.g., HACCP, OSHA).
- Coordinate with external vendors when necessary for specialized repairs.
- Maintain inventory of tools, parts, and supplies.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a general maintenance technician.
- Hands-on experience with commercial or residential kitchen equipment is required.
- Basic knowledge of electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems.
- Ability to read and interpret manuals, diagrams, and technical documents.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Physical ability to lift, climb, bend, and work in tight spaces.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Technical certification or diploma in electrical, mechanical, or kitchen equipment servicing.
- EPA certification (if handling refrigeration systems).
- Experience in a hotel, restaurant, hospital, or commercial kitchen setting is a plus.
- Valid driver’s license.
