General Technician

The General Technician is responsible for carrying out preventive and corrective maintenance across the hotel to ensure all facilities, guest rooms, and back-of-house areas are safe, functional, and well maintained. The role supports smooth hotel operations by promptly addressing maintenance issues and upholding Crowne Plaza and IHG brand standards.

YOUR DAY-TO-DAY:

• Carry out routine maintenance and repairs for electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, painting, and basic mechanical systems.
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests from guest rooms and public areas to ensure guest satisfaction.
• Perform preventive maintenance tasks according to the hotel’s maintenance schedule.
• Identify and report major repair needs or safety hazards to the Engineering Supervisor or Chief Engineer.
• Ensure all tools, equipment, and work areas are kept clean and in good working condition.
• Assist specialized technicians or contractors when required.
• Follow all health, safety, and fire regulations, including hotel SOPs and local laws.
• Maintain accurate maintenance logs and records of work completed.
• Support energy-saving initiatives and sustainability practices within the hotel.
• Carry out any other reasonable duties assigned by management.

WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU:

• Diploma or technical certification in engineering, maintenance, or a related trade is preferred.
• Proven experience as a General Technician or similar role, preferably in a hotel or hospitality environment.
• Basic knowledge of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and general maintenance work.
• Ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues efficiently.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work flexible shifts, including weekends and public holidays.
• Physically fit and able to perform manual tasks.
