Xtend Packaging, Inc. located in Houston, TX specializes in corrosion prevention and equipment preservation by fabricating bags made of a clean and safe plastic material that is used to wrap industrial equipment for the oil & gas and electronics industries.

Warehouse Workers/Material Handlers work in a climate controlled clean-room facility using equipment or hand tools to cut plastic sheeting into desired shapes and sizes for fabrication into bags. Employees may also be trained to seal plastic bags using a hand sealer or sealing machine. Additional warehouse duties include loading or unloading merchandise, taking inventory/stocking the warehouse, inspecting merchandise, palletizing, cleaning, organizing, and other duties as assigned.

Applicants may also be eligible to perform outside heat-shrink/shrinkwrapping jobs, which are compensated at a substantially higher rate of pay. When these jobs become available, this employee will transition from a warehouse worker to a heat-shrink technician (usually with several days notice). When not heat-shrinking, you will be working full-time in our warehouse. Some jobs are outside in the summer and winter. All gear will be provided, but a successful applicant must be responsible, strong, punctual, and able to work in the heat or cold.

Applicants MUST have the following skills:

-Ability to read a ruler (in inches) and calculate measurements
-Basic mathematical aptitude - addition, subtraction, multiplication, division
-Oral and Reading Communication Skills
-Time Management
-Responsibility and Trustworthiness

Required/Desired Certifications:

-Must possess or have the ability to acquire a TWIC card (ability to pass a background check for criminal record and passing a drug screen).
-License to operate forklift, scissor-lift, man-lift and other machinery a plus, but not required.

Education/Experience:Prior work experience in a warehouse setting preferred. Applicants must be conversational in English for safety reasons on the warehouse floor. SE HABLA ESPAÑOL.

Job Type: Full Time (7:30am - 3:00pm, 35 hours per week minimum; Optional extended work hours available on an as-needed, optional basis)

Compensation: Starting at $15/hr. $15.50 after successful completion of trainee period.
