About the Role
Bacancy Technology is seeking a Generative AI Healthcare Engineer to design, develop, and deploy cutting-edge generative AI solutions for clinical environments. In this role, you will build LLM-powered applications that automate clinical documentation, enhance diagnostic accuracy, and improve patient engagement. You will work at the intersection of advanced AI research and real-world healthcare delivery, ensuring that every solution meets HIPAA compliance standards and clinical safety requirements. This is an opportunity to shape the future of AI-assisted healthcare with a team that has delivered 100+ healthcare technology projects globally.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement generative AI models for clinical documentation automation, including ambient listening and medical note generation
- Build and fine-tune large language models (LLMs) on healthcare-specific datasets, ensuring clinical accuracy and bias mitigation
- Develop AI-powered patient engagement tools including intelligent chatbots, symptom triage systems, and personalized health recommendations
- Integrate generative AI solutions with existing EHR/EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, Allscripts) using FHIR and HL7 standards
- Implement robust HIPAA-compliant data pipelines for handling Protected Health Information (PHI) in AI training and inference workflows
- Collaborate with clinical teams to validate AI outputs against evidence-based medical guidelines and ensure patient safety
- Design prompt engineering frameworks and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) architectures for healthcare knowledge bases
- Monitor and optimize AI model performance in production, tracking accuracy, latency, and clinical relevance metrics
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, AI/ML, Biomedical Informatics, or a related field
- 4+ years of experience in machine learning or AI engineering, with at least 2 years focused on healthcare or life sciences
- Demonstrated experience building and deploying LLM-based applications (GPT-4, Claude, LLaMA, or similar)
- Strong understanding of HIPAA Privacy and Security Rules as they apply to AI systems handling PHI
- Experience with healthcare data standards including FHIR, HL7, SNOMED CT, ICD-10, and LOINC
- Proficiency in Python and ML frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch, Hugging Face Transformers)
- Experience with cloud-based AI services (AWS SageMaker, Azure OpenAI, Google Vertex AI)
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain AI concepts to clinical and non-technical stakeholders
Nice to Have
- Publications or research contributions in healthcare AI, clinical NLP, or biomedical informatics
- Experience with FDA Software as a Medical Device (SaMD) regulatory pathways
- Knowledge of clinical trial data analysis and real-world evidence (RWE) generation
- Familiarity with healthcare MLOps platforms and model monitoring in clinical settings
