Geostructural Senior Project Manager

GEI’s New York City office is seeking a motivated and experienced geostructural senior project manager to be involved with a variety of projects throughout the region. Work will primarily pertain to construction support services for the design of excavation support systems, temporary shoring systems and foundations. Candidate should feel comfortable working in both a team environment and independently.

Essential Responsibilities & Duties
  • Perform geotechnical and structural analysis and design.
  • Preparing full design packages with calculations, drawings, and specifications.
  • Write letters and reports.
  • Attend project meetings and communicate with Clients.
  • Develop proposals and other business development activities.
  • Perform site visits to observe construction of specialty geotechnical and geostructural items such as deep and shallow foundations, tiebacks, support of excavation, bracing, and grouting among others.

Minimum Qualifications
  • B.S. in Civil Engineering with a focus on Structural Engineering; Master’s in Geotechnical or Structural Engineering preferred.
  • Geotechnical and structural course work required.
  • 12 or more years of experience.
  • New York Professional Engineer’s license required.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD and Bluebeam.
  • Extensive modeling experience with STAAD, RISA or similar analysis program.
  • Willingness to travel on temporary assignments as needed.
  • Must have a valid U.S. driver's license.
  • Ability to perform field work on active construction sites without restrictions, and in inclement weather if required.
