We are seeking a skilled and experienced Geotechnical Manager to support the design and construction of a major metro infrastructure project, with a particular focus on the Geotechnical part of Metro stations, viaducts, tunnel inclusive of deep foundations (piles) and tunneling works. The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising geotechnical investigations, interpreting soil and rock data, and providing engineering solutions and Support to ensure the safety, stability, and performance of underground structures.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, supervise, and interpret geotechnical site investigations including boreholes, CPTs, geophysical surveys, and lab testing.
- Analyze soil and rock mechanics to support the design of pile foundations, retaining structures, and tunnel linings.
- Provide geotechnical input for TBM (Tunnel Boring Machine) operations, cut-and-cover tunnels, and shaft construction.
- Collaborate with structural and civil engineers to integrate geotechnical parameters into design models.
- Prepare and review geotechnical design reports, risk assessments, and method statements.
- Monitor performance of appointed consultant s and contractor during construction and advise on mitigation measures for ground movement and settlement.
- Support the selection and design of ground improvement techniques where necessary.
- Ensure compliance with local and international standards (e.g., BS, Eurocode, ASTM).
- Liaise with contractors, consultants, and authorities to resolve geotechnical issues during construction.
Requirements
- 
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Geotechnical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or related field.
- Minimum 5–10 years of experience in a supervisory role in geotechnical engineering, preferably on metro or large-scale infrastructure projects.
- Proven experience in pile design, tunnel engineering, and ground investigations.
- Proficiency in geotechnical software such as PLAXIS, GeoStudio, Settle3, or similar.
- Strong understanding of soil-structure interaction, groundwater control, and slope stability.
- Excellent communication and report-writing skills.
- Fluent in English; Arabic is a plus.
Preferred Certifications:
- 
Chartered Engineer status (CEng, PE, or equivalent) is desirable.
- Safety and site supervision certifications relevant to geotechnical works.
