Garudalytics is looking for the Remote Sensing & GIS Analyst !

Job Description :

GIS Analyst will support geospatial analytics, satellite imagery interpretation and field-based validation activities. The position requires frequent field visits, ground-truth data collection, validation of remotely sensed outputs, and regular coordination with project stakeholders. The candidate will be deployed at the client location throughout the project to ensure smooth project execution including operational support and maintenance assistance.

Key Responsibilities

Perform field surveys and ground-truthing at regular intervals

Collect, process and validate geospatial datasets

Support satellite imagery interpretation, classification and analysis

Prepare thematic maps, reports and spatial datasets

Conduct accuracy assessment of generated outputs

Operate mainstream Remote Sensing & GIS tools and platforms

Maintain data quality, metadata and documentation

Provide continuous on-site coordination and operational support

Assist in periodic reporting and presentation of results

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Remote Sensing, GIS, Geoinformatics, Geography, Environmental or Earth Sciences

3–5 years’ experience in Remote Sensing and GIS applications

Hands-on experience with satellite imagery and geospatial tools

Working knowledge of ArcGIS/QGIS and related software

Experience in field survey methods and ground-truth data collection

Desired Skills

Experience with accuracy assessment and raster processing

Familiarity with mobile data collection tools

Understanding of LULC classification preferred

Ability to work independently at client site

Good coordination and reporting skills
