Key Responsibilities
GIS and Spatial Analysis
- Develop, manage, and maintain GIS databases, geospatial datasets, and mapping systems.
- Perform advanced spatial analysis, geoprocessing, and data modeling to support project requirements.
- Integrate, analyze, and interpret spatial data from multiple sources, including surveys, satellite imagery, drones, GPS, LiDAR, and remote sensing platforms.
- Produce high-quality maps, spatial reports, dashboards, and visualizations for technical and management purposes.
- Conduct site suitability studies, spatial risk assessments, environmental impact analyses, and corridor alignment studies.
- Support geological, hydrogeological, geotechnical, environmental, and infrastructure projects through GIS-based analysis.
- Develop and maintain geospatial standards, workflows, and data management procedures.
Data Management and Database Administration
- Design, implement, and maintain geodatabases and spatial data repositories.
- Ensure data integrity, accuracy, consistency, and security of geospatial information.
- Manage coordinate systems, projections, georeferencing, and metadata documentation.
- Develop and implement quality control procedures for GIS data and deliverables.
- Maintain GIS servers, web mapping services, and enterprise GIS environments where applicable.
Remote Sensing and Geospatial Technologies
- Process and analyze satellite imagery, aerial photography, drone surveys, and LiDAR datasets.
- Generate digital elevation models (DEMs), terrain analyses, and land-use/land-cover maps.
- Support environmental monitoring, groundwater studies, and infrastructure planning through remote sensing applications.
- Utilize image classification and spatial modeling techniques for project-specific analyses.
Project Management and Coordination
- Participate in project planning, proposal preparation, and technical methodology development.
- Coordinate with engineers, geologists, hydrogeologists, environmental scientists, surveyors, and project managers.
- Monitor project schedules, deliverables, and resource requirements.
- Provide GIS technical support to multidisciplinary project teams.
Reporting and Documentation
- Prepare technical reports, GIS methodologies, mapping reports, and spatial analysis documentation.
- Develop interactive dashboards, web maps, and GIS presentations for clients and stakeholders.
- Maintain project records, GIS inventories, and metadata documentation.
- Present findings and recommendations through maps, graphics, and technical presentations.
Quality, Health, Safety, and Environment (QHSE)
- Ensure compliance with company QHSE procedures and project requirements.
- Adhere to data governance, security, and regulatory standards.
- Promote best practices in geospatial data management and analysis.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in GIS, Geomatics, Geography, Surveying, Geoinformatics, Remote Sensing, Computer Science, Civil Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related field.
- Master's degree in GIS, Geospatial Science, Geomatics, or related discipline is preferred.
- Professional GIS certifications are considered an advantage.
Experience
- Minimum 10 years of experience in GIS and geospatial data management.
- Experience supporting engineering, environmental, geotechnical, hydrogeological, infrastructure, or utility projects.
- Experience with enterprise GIS systems, web GIS platforms, and spatial database management.
- Experience working in the GCC or Middle East region is preferred
