GIS Project Manager
REQUIRED BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in GIS, Geography, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
- PMP (Project Management Professional) certification – Required
- Strong understanding of GIS concepts, spatial data models, and geodatabases
- Experience with ESRI ArcGIS (Enterprise, Pro, Online) or similar platforms
- Proven experience managing budgets, schedules, and cross-functional teams
JOB RESPONSIBILITY
- Lead end-to-end GIS project lifecycle using PMI best practices (initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, and closure)
- Develop project charters, schedules, budgets, risk registers, and communication plans
- Manage scope, timelines, cost, quality, and stakeholder expectations
- Track project performance using KPIs and prepare status reports for leadership
- Oversee design, development, and deployment of GIS solutions (ArcGIS, web GIS, spatial databases)
- Coordinate spatial data collection, analysis, migration, and integration
- Ensure data quality, metadata standards, and compliance with organizational GIS policies
- Collaborate with GIS analysts, developers, data engineers, and IT teams
- Serve as the primary point of contact for internal and external stakeholders
- Mentor project team members and promote best practices
- Ensure compliance with data security, privacy, and regulatory standards
- Support procurement processes, RFPs, and contract management
