GIS/CADD Operator (Transportation Engineering)

DRAWLINES ENGINEERING CONSULT is looking for GIS/CADD Operator in transportation

Skilled GIS/CAD operator with a wide range of experience working closely with the transportation engineering team. Candidate responsible for preparing accurate, high-quality CAD drawings, GIS datasets, and analytical outputs to support transportation and roadway studies. Requires close coordination with multidisciplinary teams and adherence to the road corridor project requirements and applicable standards.

Requirements:

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, GIS, CAD Technology, or related field
• Minimum 10–15 years of experience as a GIS/CADD Operator in transportation or roadway-related projects
• Strong working knowledge of AutoCAD/MicroStation and ArcGIS/QGIS
• Experience supporting transport modelling & traffic analysis teams
• Hands-on experience in roadway concept design preparation
• Ability to understand engineering drawings, standards, design guidelines
• Excellent attention to detail, accuracy, and quality control. Desirable requirements
• Evidence of suitable professional qualification or equivalent is preferable
• Arabic language skills
• Experience of working in Qatar and/or the Gulf region
• University degree from a recognized University in an appropriate field

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed CADD drawings, layouts & plans related to roadway, traffic, transport planning projects as per project standards
• Develop and maintain GIS datasets, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and compliance with project specifications
• Support engineers and planners in transport modelling & traffic analysis, including processing model outputs & preparing visual representations
• Assist in the preparation of roadway concept designs, layout plans, technical drawings
• Generate maps, analytical layers, spatial outputs for planning & design needs
• Coordinate with project engineers to update drawings, resolve discrepancies, ensure deliverable quality
• Maintain organized documentation, layer management, naming conventions as per project requirements
• Support the preparation of reports, presentations, submissions by providing required diagrams, figures, drawings
