About the Role

We are looking for a detail oriented Glass and Glazing Estimator to support a US based commercial construction company specializing in glass and glazing systems.

This role focuses on reviewing architectural drawings, performing material takeoffs, and preparing cost estimates for commercial projects including storefronts, curtain walls, doors, and windows.

You will work closely with a US based estimating team and follow established pricing models, vendor inputs, and project standards.

Key Responsibilities

Estimation and Takeoffs

• Review architectural and construction drawings to identify scope related to glass and glazing
• Perform detailed quantity takeoffs for:
  • Storefront systems
  • Curtain wall systems
  • Glass panels
  • Aluminum framing
  • Doors and windows
• Prepare Bills of Quantities and structured cost estimates
• Assist in preparing customer quotes based on provided pricing frameworks
• Drawing and Documentation Review
• Read and interpret blueprints, elevations, sections, and specifications
• Identify scope gaps, inconsistencies, and assumptions in drawings
• Coordinate with internal teams to clarify technical details
• Tools and Reporting
• Use Excel to build and update estimating worksheets
• Work with AutoCAD drawings for measurement and verification
• Use takeoff software such as PlanSwift, Bluebeam, or On Screen Takeoff where applicable
• Maintain organized project files and estimate records

Required Skills

• Strong ability to read and interpret construction drawings
• Solid understanding of quantity takeoffs and BOQ preparation
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD
• Strong numerical accuracy and attention to detail
• Ability to clearly explain estimating logic and assumptions

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Architectural Engineering
• OR Diploma in Civil Technology or Architecture Drafting

Experience

• Two to five years of experience in:
  • Construction estimating
  • Quantity surveying
  • Architectural takeoffs
• Prior exposure to commercial projects is required
• Experience with glass, aluminum, or façade related projects is a strong plus
