We are looking for a Global Commodity Senior Buyer to join our Procurement Team in Haier Europe Türkiye.


The position is located in İstanbul or Eskişehir .


PURPOSE OF THE POSITION


The purpose of the position is to manage suppliers and sourcing strategies within the assigned commodity in order to ensure the best balance between cost, quality, and delivery performance. The role contributes to achieving company targets through effective negotiation, cost optimization, and continuous improvement initiatives. The position plays a key part in building long-term partnerships with suppliers and supporting product development by ensuring the availability of competitive and innovative components and materials.


ACTIVITIES AND AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY


  • Manage suppliers and define sourcing strategies aligned with business and category objectives.
  • Prepare and launch RFQs, collect and analyze quotations, perform benchmark and investment studies, and lead supplier evaluation and nomination processes based on Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) principles.
  • Use purchasing tools such as spend analysis, cost breakdown, and BOM analysis to support sourcing decisions and identify savings opportunities.
  • Monitor market trends, emerging technologies, supplier roadmaps, and changes in legislation to proactively adapt sourcing strategies.
  • Drive and implement cost reduction projects and conduct regular negotiations to secure best-in-class purchasing conditions.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with internal stakeholders including Product Management, R&D, Quality, Planning, and Sales to support new product introductions and ongoing production needs.
  • Ensure supplier performance in terms of cost, quality, delivery, and payment conditions, applying corrective actions when necessary.
  • Continuously scout and qualify new suppliers to expand and optimize the global supplier base.


REQUIREMENTS AND COMPETENCES


Education

University degree in Economics, Statistics, Engineering or management,

Professional Experience

4+ years of experience in procurement or purchasing,

Languages

English proficiency is a must;

Preferred qualifications & soft skills

  • Experience in the Electronics sector, Home Appliances related manufacturing industry.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office tools, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Solid understanding of purchasing processes, including:
  • Supply base management
  • RFQ and sourcing processes
  • Contract negotiation and legal management
  • Expertise in electronics components / Semiconductors / PCBA commodity is a must
  • Good command of IT tools (Office suite, SAP).
  • Fluent in English; any additional European language is considered a plus.
  • Availability to travel abroad when required.
  • Proven project management, organizational, and coordination skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a dynamic environment.
  • Broad business thinking and results-oriented mindset.
  • Strong motivation to deliver outstanding performance.
  • High emotional intelligence: ability to recognize and understand others’ emotions.
